Mid 20th Century Doulton Lidded Pot

This Mid 20th Century Doulton Lidded Pot was crafted of Lambeth stoneware with four sprigged topers motifs covering its body. Its lid includes a sprig of garland flowers, while the body has been dipped in a dark ochre glaze. A coggle wheel was used to decorate the rim and base of the body and lid with a chain motif, while the sprigs are pressed into a shallow mold before being applied and fired.
